Essential Duties and Responsibilities: We are seeking an AIX/Linux system administrator to support a growing infrastructure for critical Enterprise-wide systems. The ideal candidate will provide Network & System Administration support for multiple systems and networks running a mixed environment of AIX and Linux platforms and servers, with a dual focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and IBM AIX. The position includes server support: installing, loading, and configuring servers of all; troubleshooting server failures and accessibility problems; performing upgrades and migrations to new system-level software.
Essential Technical Skills: AIX 5.3 Advance Power Virtualization VIO Server Network Install Manager Powerpath Software Power HA Enterprise Backup Software(Legato Networker, Tivoli Storage Manager and/or Symantec NetBackup) Upgrade Management Performance Configuration System Security File System Management Capacity and Performance Management Backup Configuration and Management Disk Management and Storage Configuration (RAID, NFS, SMB) Networking Configuration (TCP/IP) Shell Scripting (write, review, edit) System and Application Monitoring Sendmail, DNS, ssh and ssl and other key operating system services RHEL Red Hat Kickstart Provide technical services and assistance to the organization during both on and off hours. Apply principles and techniques of system and application administration to specific user needs and problems Perform complex analysis of system requirements applied to system administration duties. Maintain knowledge of technological advances in the field. Write effective technical documentation and technical diagrams.

Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors of Science Degree in the technology field or Computer Science from a four year college or university and 3-5 years systems administration experience with AIX systems. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of 3 years of supporting AIX production environments and Linux production environments.
Preferred Qualifications: System administration experience with other Unix-based operating systems, particularly Red Hat Linux, is a plus.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: AIX System p Administrator certification is highly desirable. Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications are also a plus. Established experience and results are essential.
